I made a point of making sure I had backup copies of all the Outlook system files along with everything else I might need on an external disk prior to wiping my C: drive and installing a clean version of Win7 64-bit, followed by an installation of Microsoft Office 2010 including the Outlook 2010.

All the contacts, calendars and addresses come up fine since I determined where to put the older .pst files.

But, now I can't figure out why the account settings aren't there. Is there any way to include these from any of the other copied Outlook 2007 files, or is it expected that these must be added/updated manually?

Can anyone tell me how to do this or have any ideas I might attempt?

Yes, you need to re-enter the account settings manually. Those were stored in the registry of your XP installation, and although perhaps theoretically possible to extract from a backup copy of the file, I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

Windows Easy Transfer or the older Settings Transfer Wizard may provide this service, but there are many reports of the Transfer corrupting the mail profile, so may as well recreate your Mail Profile manually.

Thanks for the replies. Iíve everything in this area working fine, now, after setting up all the mail accounts manually. I didn't attempt to use the transfer facility since I had so much junk on the old disk.
