Is there away to change the default for downloads? I have a folder on my external hard drive where I download everything to, and would like to make that the default location.
    Thanks John

On my system (Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit) when I choose my download location the first time, it automatically opens to this folder. The folder however, is on my int HD, on my data partition. Perhaps downloading to an ext drive is causing the problem. You could always set up an internal partition just to use for these downloads and see if this works. In this case I would call the partition "downloads".

Thanks Ted, I see where that would work. I went to the downloads, and clicked options, where it asked me to choose a folder. It wouldn't let me choose drive G:\Downloads.
When I clicked ok it reverted back to Downloads on my C drive. I was thinking that maybe a different folder would work, but that didn't pan out either.
    Thanks John

If you use Firefox, you can install the add in Automatic save folder
that lest you define save locations by file extension or hosted domain. As an example, I use it to download all my NY Times crossword puzzles wit a .puz extension directly into my Across Lite program folder.

Thanks Jerry but I prefer IE. I was able to redirect the download.
    Thanks John
