    Printed display not correct (Excel2000)

    Hi! <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

We have excel worksheets that when printed from one computer, comes out with extra spacing in the rows, but if we sneaker it to another computer via a floppy disk, that one will print it correctly. So there has to be a problem within the Excel application but we don't know where to check for it. In word, one can delete the Normal.dot and return stuff to "default" but where would that be accomplished in Excel? Or is it something else that would need to be checked out?

TIA for all replies!! Always appreciated!!

The first thing that I would check would be to see that you are using the most current version of the printer drivers and that you are using the correct driver for the printer you have on those machines.

Yep, <img src=/S/yep.gif border=0 alt=yep width=15 height=15> the printer drivers are up to date. It only happens within the excel application. All other apps print correctly. We also have the current definitions for virus loaded.

    Same printer?
    Same operating system?
    Same fonts installed?

Hummm: They are the same operating systems, with the same programs and fonts installed but we do need to make sure that a comparison test to the same printer was made!! I believe that the person did have his co-worker print to the same one but before we go on in our exploration of this problem, I need to check this thought out.

I will let you know. Thanks.

You might also want to try printing to a different printer on those systems.

<img src=/S/fanfare.gif border=0 alt=fanfare width=31 height=23> Solved it! Seems simple now. Tks for pointing out that the print drivers may be different and after some experimentation, that proved to be the case. We needed a driver with post script capabilities to make it work!!

    Whew! Have a great day!
