For years I've been using Bloglines (bloglines.com) for detecting and reading new posting in the Status blogs from my email provider. But now Bloglines is closing at the end of this month and I need to find a replacement. The two most important things Bloglines does for me is to notify me in the Systray when a new blog entry has been posted and provide a convenient way to me to read the new posting. Also, up until about a month ago I did not have to login every time I tried to read a new posting. Now I have to login each time for some reason and that is something I certainly want to avoid.

Any suggestions on an alternative to Bloglines will be greatly appreciated.

I've never used an RSS feed aggregator, whether as a stand-alone application, as a browser add-on, or as a feature of a webmail service. Perhaps start here in finding an alternative?

That should get me started. I didn't relaize that Bloglines was reading an RSS feed! I've heard of RSS for a long time but never understood how it was used. Thanks for the suggestions.
