I am getting email with attachments that I can't open. For example - .pps and .pcx...those are 'powerpoint' and 'paintbrush' respectively. I should know what .dat and .htm are, but can't remember and can't open...where can I find info., comprehensive info., on what extensions can be changed, and what can they be changed to? What programs can be re-assigned to those mentioned above?
I just don't know what to do...lost 3 great pics last week because I struck out on mt own (oops!)...how do I download and open and save pics that have extensions that I don't have a program for?
Thanks in advance for any help.... <img src=/S/brickwall.gif border=0 alt=brickwall width=25 height=15>

Powerpoint Viewer: <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.microsoft.com/office/000/viewers.htm>MS Viewers & Converters</A>
Paintbrush (pcx) Viewer: <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=free&Number=6879&page=0&vie w=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&fpart=>IrFan view</A> - good for many other graphics files, too.
.htm files: Save and open with IE
.dat files: Look at posts like <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?Cat=&Board=out&Number=73985&page=&view =&sb=&o=&vc=1>this one</A> in the Outlook forum.Leif
