    Error Msg on Download

    I am getting an error msg on download from RealDownload. And then the download won't unzip. It says:

    Cannot start download from file "C:My".
    [Reason Invalid expression 'i!=creatorMap_.[ ].' ]

    All this in a bluegrey box in the center of the screen.

    Have I deleted a critical file when I was last cleaning files from my Compaq? or what should I do to correct this glitch?

    What folder are you downloading to?
    I suspect downloading to a temporary folder can cause problems. Create a new one and try again.

    Re: Error Msg on Download

    Dear Leif,
    I first downloaded to "My Download" and then I created a new folder called "distinctive" also under C: and downloaded to that. Same result. One thing that happened a few days ago was a slip in the mouse and I deleted either the file or a copy of a Compaq exe file as I was doing work on an adjacent folder. It had a distinctive look and I can't find it anymore. No idea what it was. All else seems normal so far.

    Do these files I have deleted go to a specific place where I can find them and reload them?

    Re: Error Msg on Download

    Dear Leif,
    Nothing unusual seems to be there. I can assume that deletions from "explore" or "exploring" all go there. If that is so, I suppose it didn't delete after all.
    Back to the original download problem: I note that my download file is called My Download instead of My Download File. If that is significant, let me know.

    I am also having problems with Sellers Assistant Pro correctly downloading. There in this eBay assist program for sellers, the box seldom appears, but the files seldom download correctly.

    I think the next thing to do would be to reload Windows 98. Or?
