I have downloaded and installed a game, (not free) but when I try to play it I get a runtime error from Windows that won't let it play. What's the safest way to deal with this problem? Have you checked to be sure the game is fully Windows 7 compatible? This type of Runtime error suggests a possible compatibility issue.
You might try running the game in Compatibility Mode. Right click the shortcut or executable and click the Compatibility tab and select the OS to Run this program in compatibility mode for: .
You also might try right clicking on the shortcut and selecting Run as administrator, and approving the elevated privileges when UAC pops up.
