todoBackup is recommended in the October 14 Windows Secret column. Sounds perfect -- free, makes an image file. It will not recognize my CD drive. It correctly identifies it as LTR-2402M (which is a Samsung CD R/W drive). I have never had problems writing or reading with this drive or driver.

Anyone have a suggestions. todoBackup seems useless unless it can write a recovery disk. This is absolutely necessary to recreate the image.

    Forrest,
Hello, ...don't know anything about "todoBackup" but i have used and tried (with success ) Macrium Reflect Free http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.asp and is has the ability to make a bootable recovery disk. Regards Fred

A firmware update may solve the problem if you CD RW is an older model.
