Change font throughout a PP file

Our corporate design guidelines mandate a particular font for all presentations, and I need to change the existing font (usually arial) throughout each of many PP files. Changeing themes don't seem to pick up the font, dispite it being in the slide master as the corporate font. Things like background color get added to the new presentation, but the font stays arial. Can I make the font change to one in another presentation when applying the theme? I'm new to powerpoint so any help gratefully accepted. Frank

The plot thickens. I can change the font by directly highlighting the text and applying the corporate font, but would have to do that for every slide in every .ppt
If I try to apply a theme from within PPoint, it picks up and applies everything in the theme except the font. Modifying and saving a new theme with the font I want included, allows me to apply it to new .ppt files, but dosent work on the existing presentations which need updating. Is there something weird about these presentations which stops them accepting new formatting!?

My guess would be that whoever created the presentations set the font on each slide thus over-riding the master slide font. The local selection will not be affected by changing master.

Thanks RetiredGeek, if that's the case I guess I have to do it all by hand? Or is there a way to remove all formating from the slides in the presentation? I'll try that and see. Frank

Here are a couple of things you can try.

1. Click on a slide in the slide sorter on the left then press Ctrl+A to select all slides. Then right-click on any of the slides and try reapplying the Master template by selecting Slide Design.

If that doesn't work.

2. Select all the slides as above then select Format on the menu and then Replace Fonts...
This will allow you to replace the current slide font with your corporate font.

Anyone else have a suggestion?

Very nice. I booked marked that page! I've never used VBA in PP.

Here's another one for you. Can you gen up some VBA to set all the slides back so they will adopt the master?

( I am using PP 2007, should have mentioned that, and neither of retiredgeeks suggestions worked as I could not find the equivalent format commands )

HOME tab >> Edit Group (far right) >>Replace dropdown

Switch to Outline view
Ctrl + A to select all text
Ctrl + spacebar to strip off all character formatting - it will return to whatever has been set in the master.

Alternately,
In Normal view, select all the slide thumbnails (you can use Ctrl + A for this). Right-click on any thumbnail and choose Reset Slide.

What neither of these techniques will do is change the formatting on Text boxes that are not part of the slide layout. Those will require code or much patience.
