    Start in DOS?

I have a Backdoor virus in a file that can't be deleted or quarantined while Windows is running. The file is a TMP file in C:Restore. I feel safe deleteing it. Windows ME gives a message that there is a sharing violation. It can not be deleted in "Safe Mode" either. I had one of these on my Windows 98 OS but I knew how to start that in DOS.
How can I start Windows ME in DOS Mode?

If you have a boot diskette, you're flying. Simply pop it in, and turn on your computer. If you feel safe doing navigating and deleting files on the command line, you're set.

You can also 'turn off' WinME's recovery feature ( that will remove all of your C:_restore directories) and then restart the recovery feature. Goto system properties->Performance Tab->file system->troubleshooting and checkmark the last line that says: Disable System Restore.

Thank you. That sounds like a good tip in any case.
