Desktop links won' open in Chrome for me. I've tried using a shortcut in SendTo, but no good.
Do you (I) have to use that long-winded file://... command line to get a link?
Regards,
Chuck Billow

Works for me, unless I don't understand the question/problem. I have an icon on my desktop that is an Internet Shortcut with a URL.
Just to test this I dragged the URL for this thread to my desktop to create a shortcut. When I clicked on the link the web page opened just fine. Do not know what your problem could be. How did you create the shortcut?

When you installed Chrome, it most likely created a link on your desktop or Start Orb. What I do is have both IE and Chrome shortcuts pinned to my taskbar. Then you simply click the taskbar link to open whatever page(s) you have chosen as your Home page. Right Click on the shortcut and select Pin to Taskbar and there you have it. You can then delete the shortcut from the desktop for a less cluttered look.
