Suddenly have a word appearing - Address - in the bottom bar of screen - just to left of button that says "Show Hidden Icons", and just to right of Magnify glass icon. The word is shaded. Have no idea what I was doing that made it appear and can't click on it or do anything to make disappear. Have turned computer on/off several times and restarted - no diff. Windows XP home, Sp2. Any ideas on fixing this? Everything seems to work o.k. but I'm wary when something is where it shouldn't be!
    thanks in advance.

right click on a blank space on the task bar and go to Toolbars> See which toolbars are checked. Most likely a new one has been checked somehow......

Also to see the full function of the toolbars, right click on the taskbar and unlock it. Then you should see a triple dotted vertical line just to left of Address. Grab it with the mouse (double ended horizontal arrow will show when positioned correctly) and pull it further left and you should see the Address entry field come into view. Its a feature of Windows that has been there for a long time.
