    Autofilter shortfall (Excel 97 SR2)

I have what is probably a simple query, but it has baffled me all the same. I have a worksheet containing c. 10,000 records - names & addresses etc. I want to put an autofilter on this list, to enable quick browsing and selection.

However, when I do this, the drop down list only includes up to some of the names starting with 'C' - the rest of the 'C' names to the 'Z' names are omitted. I think it is 1375 records it is filtering to. Is this the limit of autofilter?

Very confused - all help galdly accepted,

    James.

    James,

There is a limit to the number of items that can display in the AutoFilter dropdown lists

This might be the time to switch over to Access. Just due to the size.

    Cheers
