    Unhappy

Strange problem occurring. Have a spreadsheet with data brought in from a form. Contains the following columns. Code/Category; Lastname; Firstname, as well as several others. Trying to sort on Code/Category then Lastname, then Firstname, results in most data being sorted correctly, but also end up with name beginning with L following name beginning with W. Code/category is the same.

anyone run across this problem, or any suggestions on what might be happening.

Code is set as a1 or a2, etc. and all data seems to sort on this correctly. But when add in lastname and firstname problems occurr. If you sort just on lastname, everything sorts correctly. Only appear to be probems when set to sort on both.

    Thanks in advance. (as always)

Check that there is no embedded spaces in either the code/category or lastname columns, as they may be the cause of the combined missort.

Thanks. Had thought of that and had checked.

Should also note, have retyped the information into those cells that don't seem to sort correctly..... doesn't change anything.
