Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

I have been asked to setup a virtual Win7 PC with a number of virtual CDs and share them across a network. I am currently attempting this with Alcohol 120% as originally this package was used, though on a physical WinXP PC.

I have had success with images up to 1.5Gb but I am struggling with the most critical folder which is 4.2Gb. At this point I am seriously considering abandoning the virtual CD idea and going with a heavily protected shared folder. (I am not sure why the preference was for CD images but will ask at the first opportunity.)
    Any input would be appreciated.

I would copy the files to appropriately named folders and share them with the share rights Everyone:read only. No need to play with virtual CDs and you can have as many shares as space allows. Also makes backup easy.

    cheers, Paul

    Precisely my thoughts.

In fact I have found if I copy the original folder to the PC I want to create the images on it works as expected. I am still leaning towards the shared folders though as I can add or remove files as needed.
