outlook xp - sending addresses (xp)

hello everyone! <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15> I have outlook xp and was wondering if i can make separate groups for my contacts list. I would like to send one message through bcc to a particular group of people in my address book and NOT ALL the people in my address book. Is this possible? At the moment I am having to add each email address individually and is quite laborious

Example: Lets say I wanted 4 groups: Family, Friends, Business, & Misc. And I want to send a particualr email to only the people in my Family group and not the others. Is this possible and please tell me how? Could you please explain in stages or very simple terms as I'm new to all this!

    Thnak you all so much

two ways - use categoroies or use a DL.

To create a DL - file > new > Distribitation List.

To use categories, add a category to one contact in each group and view > current view > bt category. Drop the remaining contacts in the correct groups. To send, drag and drop a group into the to or bcc field.

It sounds like you could use Distribution Lists. From your Contacts view, click the down arrow next to the New Contact button, and choose Distribution List. Name your List (Family, Friends, etc), then click the Select Members button. Add the members to the list, then click OK. Then click Save and Close.

To send a message to the Distribution List, you just start a new message, then when you click the To button, select the Distribution List (Family, Friends, etc) from the list. The e-mail will go to each member.
