    WinXP Pro Vs Goback

I'm planning to convert from win 98SE to winxp pro. Does anyone know the difference between XP's system recovery software compared to Roxio's Goback software. I've been using Goback for awhile now and was wondering if and when I convert, can I stay with Goback or I really do not need it now since XP has this recovery part in it. Thanks for any opinions. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

    Re: WinXP Pro Vs Goback

In general, if your OS has built-in utilities it makes no sense to use 3rd party software, unless it offers significant extras or if the native functionality is flawed. You would be adding an extra layer of possible errors. In XP the built-in firewall gave me problems, so I turned it off and use ZoneAlarm. The decision in your case should really be postponed until you've tried both. Much of the software for Win 9x works under 2kP with free(ish) upgrades. This is much less frequently true for XP, necessitating cash outlay. If your app does not work under XP and the built-in back-up does, you need go no further.
