]Some how my printer drivers disappeared. The installation files are on my computer, and the New Hardware Wizard correctly reports the name of each printer, but when I click Setting-->Printers all I see is "Add Printer". When I try to add a printer, I get this message: "The Print Spooler Service is not running."
I ran the scannow.sfc utility to repair system files, hoping that the Print Spooler would reappear. It didn't. Device Manager tells me that the LPT port is "working correctly". I can't find any info on the Print Spooler, so I'm at a loss. I've been using these 2 printers without any problem for a long time. One is an older but very useful HP Photosmart, and the other is a newer Epson RX scanner/photo printer.
On a different but related subject, I tried to restore an earlier configuration, which was yesterday. Sadly that didn't solve the problem. I was disconcerted to discover that that was the only restore point available, even though 2 days ago several restore points displayed. I couldn't go back to October, and only the Nov11 [slightly after midnight] restore point showed.
I've learned a lot by reading through many posts, especially about the dreaded Framework.net issues. So I'm very hopeful that someone can help me with this dilemma. Thanks

First off, we'll start with the simplest and most obvious: Ensure the Print Spooler service is set to automatic in the services section.
To get to services, copy and past to the run box: "services.msc".DRIVE IMAGING
Invest a little time and energy in a well thought out BACKUP regimen and you will have minimal down time, and headache.
