With the time my PC windows XP Sp3 has been accumulating several versions of net framework, windows program manager shows NF 2.0 sp2, NF 3.0 sp 2 an NF 3.5 sp1, the most extrange is that program manager says they are almost never used. I installed NF because some software required it so. I try to uninstall nf 2.0 to save HD space but it shows an error message. ┐how can I get rid of them? ┐do I really need all these versions of NF?

You cannot usually remove the .NET program. This is by design.
The other issue is determining what, if anything, uses .NET and what version.

I would spend some money on a new bigger hard disk and either clone the existing disk or have 2 disks with your data stored on the second disk.

    cheers, Paul
