I'm new to the Lounge, sooooo.... Hi!

I've done some searching in these forums, but I can't find anything that fits my needs.

I'm looking for a program that allows a user to change existing text inside a PDF document. We have old copies of Acrobat Standard (ver. 4 and 5) that does a great job at alterring existing text, but users are starting to have trouble opening files that are saved in the latest format version.

Upgrading each of these users to the latest version of Acrobat Standard is too costly right now.

I find lots of great freeware/shareware programs that allow splitting and merging, but I need to find a program that allows small changes to text within an existing PDF document.

Thanks in advance for your help and suggestions!

    Steven

CutePDF might fill your needs. I know of nothing completely free for editing PDF files.

    I use GoOpenOffice.org for this.

PDFill works for me, but it's not really an editor, you cover the old with new.

Yes, most programs seem to stop short of this. Here are two non-free programs you might consider testing:

    Nitro PDF Professional $100 (I use this) ($55 at Newegg.com; $50 on Amazon.com marketplace)
Foxit PDF Editor $99 (haven't tried it)

Thanks so much for all the options, everyone!

I'll give 'em all a spin.

    Impressive response!
