I am trying to create some 3-D beveled buttons and cylinders in Word 2007, but I am not having much success. Would appreciate any help in navigating the ribbon to make this happen.

    Thanks

I think this is the same in Word 2007. In Word 2010 you go to
    1. Insert tab > Illustrations Group > Shapes > Basic Shapes > Bevel
    2. Insert tab > Illustrations Group > Shapes > Basic Shapes > Can

Once I've inserted the can, how do I apply 3-D effects to it? When I select it, the 3-D Effects section of the toolbar is greyed out.

    Thanks

Is your document saved in Compatibility Mode? I think you need to save the document in the newer formats (docx or docm) to get the 3D effects.

It is in .docx format. I also tried creating a new document, same thing.

Now I am trying some different shapes, and the 3D section is available. (it works for oval and rectange).

But for the shapes I want to use - the can, bevel, and cube - the 3D section is greyed out.

    Thanks
