    Where's the errorlog

Occasionally when Outlook is shutting down I will get a cryptic error message indicating that Outlook encountered an error while closing and that an errorlog is being created. Of course, the message doesn't leave any indication of the name of the log or where it might be found. Have searched for many permutations of the phrase errorlog and can't find anything that remotely resembles what I think I'm looking for. Anyone know where this jewel is parked?

    Re: Where's the errorlog

are you using exchange and ost? if so, it could be placed in the deleted items folder. Otherwise, i'd look in the temp folders and the outlook data folder (where *.rwz is) and also in dr watson's folder.

Take the easy way out. Next time it happens, use search to look for all new files in the last day and sort by date. It should be the newest file on your system.

    MaryJ,
Thanks for the tip. I found a dr. Watson (drwtsn32.log) file by searching on date and sorting on time. Unfortunately it is way to arcane for me to dicipher.
