In cell A1 I have .05 expressed as a percentage, or 5.00%. In cell A2, I would like to express write an equation as 1 plus the figure in cell A1, with an "x"immediately preceeding it, or "x1.05". Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Put this in A2:
    =+"x"&(A1+1)

If you want to be able to use the calculated value in another formula, use:
    =A1+1
    and a custom cell format:
    x0% (for x105%); or
    x0.00 (for x1.05)
    Cheers,
