Windows Media Player 12 will only play sound and not the video.

It only shows a thumbnail of the video on the screen and while it plays the sound fine it wont play the video.

It seems to be not working with all the formats that are compatible with the player like AVI, MPG, WAV etc..

I can't seem to figure it out and being I don't play that many videos I have no idea when it started doing this.

Thanks for the reply but I just figured it out by re-installing my video card driver.

Graphics card drivers are notorious for causing some pretty wierd problems that defy explanation. Updates can also cause problems. These are one update that I commonly ignore. The adage "If it ain't broke then don't fix it!" is very appropriate to graphics drivers. Many of us have had problems with "new and improved graphics drivers". Glad you found your problem.
