I don't want to turn off "enable editing" globally - so would like to include a line of code when I open a particular file so that editing is enabled for the duration of the macro (it is saved and closed towards the end).

A macro which worked well in 2003 falls over now we have 2010 - I get an error message that the file is read only - this leads me to believe it needs to be edit enabled.

    Hi Roberta,

It would be helpful if you posted the 2003 macro. Also, have you checked the file's read-only attribute setting via Windows Explorer?
