    Lotus Notes

I was wondering if you would consider adding a forum to "Other" for Lotus Notes.
At our company, we just started using this "program ???" for e-mail and other things.
Everyone was used to Outlook and Internet Explorer and now "corporate" made the decision to go with Lotus. Their "Help" files are not very helpful and I thought that maybe information could be passed around about Lotus on Woody's.
Let me know if you think this forum is practical.

Our company has been using Lotus Notes for several years... pluses and minuses for sure. Would be glad to assist in any way I could.

Have you found a way to copy a personalized address book and send it to another individual on your network ? I have created different group addresses (engineering, sales, admin, etc.) which work fine for me but I would like to give a copy to some other people but can not find a way to send just individual books. My "fix" right now is to copy an incoming message header and paste into a book. Anything better ?

Copying a personal address book is not a problem... but I think what you are asking is can you just send a group within your personal address book. Realize that if you LN is set up like most others on your network, then you will all have the same named address book. That is, my address book will be named "names.nsf" and so will yours. They are tied to our user i.d.'s and usually stored on our "H" drives (laptops are the exception). If you want to send all of your address book (including the groups that you have created within it) just send them your "names.nsf" file.

Thanks for the reply. I understand that the "storage" for the addr book is in the file names.nsf I was just wondering if there was some other way to copy just one of the addr books. Since I created four or five addr books, each with their own unique individuals for mailing purposes, I wanted to send a copy of just "that" addr book to a few individuals. Everyone has the "master" addr book but only I have one broken out of the "master" addr book showing individuals in groups. It is that book that I wanted to send to others.
My work around seems to have helped. It was to send to a group (with all the names in that group in the header) and have that person copy and paste into a new book on their computer. It seems like a feature that Lotus should have (MD does !). Maybe in some future version ? Thanks, TimC
