IESpell is the spell check app that the Spell Checker in the Lounge defaults to when using IE. It however only works on the 32 Bit version of IE. Does anyine know where to find a version that works on IE 64 Bit? In checking around it appears that to date a 64 Bit compatible version is not available. Oh well, I guess everyone will have to put up with mis-spells once in a while.

I'm using it on W7 64 bit and it works fine.

The only problem is that it doesn't highlight the mis-spelled words so you have to look for the word.

Yes I'm also using it on Win 7 64 Bit, but it only works if I'm using IE 32 Bit. It does not load on IE 64 Bit. I generally use IE 64 Bit as my browser of choice. I suspect even though you are using Win 7 64 Bit as I do, you are using IE 32 Bit, not IE 64 Bit. If you look on the Start Orb / all programs you will see 2 versions of IE:

Normally the IE icon on your desktop or taskbar defaults to the 32 Bit version. I have changed my taskbar icon to the 64 Bit version.

To check which version, Check Tools, About Internet Explorer:

    Yes, you're right.
I don't use IE 64bit because a ,.lot of sites don't support it.
I understand flash doesn't work on it but I could be mistaken.

    I have tried it though.
Maybe I'll use it some more..

Flash Squared is available for 64 Bit IE. Be advised it is still in beta, but seems as stable as 32 Bit flash.I have not found any sites that don't support 64 Bit IE 9 beta.

According to a response by the developer in the IESpell forum IESpell is only 32-bit. There is no indication of a 64-bit version even being considered. See iespell : Message: IE9b 64-bit not working - you'll need to join a Yahoo Group to see the thread. You ought to file a bug report at ieSpell - Report a Bug. The more people who respond in that fashion the more likely the developer is to work on it.

Ted. I am using IE8 and don't plan to use IE9 until the final version comes out.

Like I said Joe, it works in IE8 in w7 64 bit but I am not using IE8 64 bit.
I know it doesn't work in that...

It's a great program and too bad they wont develop it more. Oh well, it's free.

I'm not saying that it won't be developed anymore. There is just not any published plan to have a 64-bit version. There is a "Planned Features" list at the bottom of ieSpell - Change History / Todo List. Unofortunately it has not been updated since 2006. So, at best development has been spotty for several years.

    Joe,

Just added a bug report to IESpell for no 64 Bit IE support. Thanks for the site.
