    Hi there!

As far as I know, it's impossible to rename the default folders (Inbox, Sent Items, ...) in Outlook. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Nonetheless one of our users accomplished it to rename his Sent Items folder to "Michael Berner".
This leaves me with 2 questions:
    1. How the he.. could he do something like this?
    2. How can I change it back to the original name?

I tried to find hints across the web, but all I get is "it's impossible". After many years I spent with computers and windows I know, almost nothing is impossible. Which brought me here.

    Thx for any help!

    Cheers
    Philipp

You can change it with code. See the /resetfoldernames switch at Command-line switches for Outlook 2010 - Outlook - Microsoft Office to restore the original name.

    Thx for your reply Joe.

Is there any way I can change the name to anything else than back to the default name? It's not important, just curious.
I'm still wondering how my colleague did it. But I'm afraid I have to file this case with the x-files.

Anyway, thx again for the help. Have a nice day!

    Cheers

In searching around I saw a VBscript for changing folder names at How to rename default Outlook XP folders?. It most likely would still work with Office 2010 but if it would not work as is could be changed to work. I suppose someone could've written a small program to do it too but I did not see one.
