    Hi
I have a Windows XP pc that has become corrupted and so want to reinstall Windows XP. I have an image of the drive that I want to restore, however Drive Image won't allow me to restore to the main system drive. Can anyone suggest the best an easiest way (sorry I know I'm asking a lot) to go about restoring the image file. I believe I have to have a boot disk, if so what's the best way to go about it.

    Thanks in advance
    Dax

    Hi Dax,

After checking out Roderunner's link to DriveImage FAQ, if you need a good guide to slipstreaming a service pack to XP in preparation for the bootable CD, see Paul Thurrott's Windows Supersite here.

    Hi Everyone
Just wanted to say thanks for your help and to let you know how I solved my problem.

I happened to mention my problem to one of my work mates and he suggested I create a new partition on my second HDD, install Windows on it and then boot using that installation and I could then restore my image to my original C drive.

Well I tried and much to my amasement it worked without a hitch.

Wish all my PC problems could be fixed as smoothly.

So thanks again for all your assistance
    Cheers
    Dax
