How do you change Word 2010 settings (which Iím using with Windows 7) so that when you drag and drop a file (.xls, .pdf etc) onto a document such as a Weekly Newsletter, it is automatically displayed within the document as an icon (rather than the default which is for Word to display the entire CONTENTS of the file within the Word document)?

Would greatly appreciate any advice on this...

AFIK, you can't do that by dragging. Instead, open the recipient document and go to Insert tab, Text group > Object > Object > Create from file tab. Identify the file and check the box next to Display as icon.

Thanks a million - they always seem so obvious when someone points it out!
