    font problems

My fonts seem to be messed up. The fonts that show up on the task bar icons and some icons in tray (like the clock) are larger than normal and bold. I can use all the usual fonts (like times new roman) in Word, but I cannot use times new roman in MathType (times is not listed there). When I look in windowsfonts, I see 605 fonts listed (including times new roman).
    1. Any idea as to what might be going on?
    2. Do fonts need to be reinstalled, or is this maybe a registry problem?

    Thanks,

    Walt

    According to
    <A target="_blank" HREF=http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q131/9/43.asp?>Q131943</A> TrueType Font Limits in Windows 95/98/Me
the limit is 1,000 fonts, with certain reservations, so I don't think it is the quantity that is the problem.

Is this something that has just started happening?
Have you recently installed any new fonts?
Are all your fonts in the same folder?
What font is setup in you desktop properties?

Can you set the desktop properties font to a default such as 'small', rather than a specific type and size?
