# Thread: Cell formula that increases by more than one cell

1. ## Cell formula that increases by more than one cell

G'day

I need to be able to create a formula that will take the values of cells in order. The exception is that the value will remain the same column but the row needs to be every 25 down. Eg. C1 = C10, D1 = C35, E1 = C60.

Cheers Rob

2. ## Re: Cell formula that increases by more than one cell

Enter the following in cells c1, d1, e1, ...

=OFFSET(\$C\$1,9+25*(COLUMN()-3),0)

Is that what you need?

Ian.

John

The situation I described is more complicated than I saked about hoping this would solv it. Can I email you the spready for you to have a look at. I need to be able to do this across different work sheets.

Cheers Rob

Rob,

I'd encourage you to keep it public. You can attach a worksheet to your post if you want (as long as it's not too big).

If it's kept public, it may help someone who comes along later looking for a similar solution

No probs

YTD Consol worksheet G6 to G10 relates as the formulas suggest. I need H6 to H10 etc to relate to the same colums jsut 25 Cells below.

Cheers Rob

See attached for changes in H6:h10. The offset function works quite well in this sort of situation.

Jon,

Sensation. I don't quite understand the column function with the -7 but it works and I'll endeavour to work that out.

Cheers Rob
