Just out of curiosity, can anyone tell me the intended uses of two standard folders -
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data
    ?

They're for settings that apply to specific programs, and are put there upon installation. When you uninstall a program, the entries disappear, so you don't have to worry about doing any maintenance on those folders. However if you're using Mozilla Firefox or Thunderbird and several other programs, the entries are your program profiles and should be backed up.
