Roughly 50% of the time, instead of going to sleep, my computer screen goes black (not blank) with the mouse icon on it. Any ideas? Thanks

Sorry to ask, but does that mean it "freezes"?

Is this a laptop by any chance? Found this

    Computer goes black screen

    1) UNPLUG THE LAPTOP
    2) REMOVE THE BATTERY
    3) HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS TO 2 MINUTES
    4) THEN PUT THE BATTERY BACK IN
    5) START IT UP..

This has helped a few users. If it's not a laptop then disregard.

No it doesn't freeze. As of yet it hasn't caused any problems. It's just troubling.

If you go to Control Panel -> Performance and Information Tools and then choose Advanced Tools, do you see any warnings about performance issues?

    Ok.
When this happens, is the computer actually in sleep mode or not?

It seems to be. Hitting return brings me to the Log-in screen
