I have a password protected excel spreadsheet, but when I email it, it loses it's protection (ie, I can open it without the password). How can I retain the protection when I mail it, so it can only be opened if I give the recipient the password?

That's odd. What do you do to send it? Are you sending a copy from within Excel or attaching the file from email?

    cheers, Paul

attaching the file from email. But I am sending the email to myself - does that have anything to do with it?

    Thanks,

    Charlie

Attaching from within email should take a copy of the file from disk without modification - including the password. Do you already have the file open when you test?

    cheers, Paul
