    Missing Menu Bar (Outlook 2000)

    HELP!! My supervisor's daughter was playing with his computer. Now he tells me that the menu bar at the top of the Outlook screen (File, Edit, View...) has disappeared. Can someone tell me how to restore it, please???

    Try this:
    Right click on the Toolbar and choose Customize. On the Toolbars card, place a check mark in the Menu box.

    That sounds simple enough, but the problem is, there is no toolbar to right click on. I can do a Ctrl + N to open a new message, and the toolbars are there. But, when Outlook is opened, there is no menu bar that says, FILE, EDIT, VIEW, FAVORITES, TOOLS, HELP.

    Try this:

    (1) Press Alt-F11 to pop up the Visual Basic editor
    (2) Press Ctrl-G to pop up the "immediate" window
    (3) Paste the following command into the immediate window, and press Enter at the end of the line:

    ActiveExplorer.CommandBars("Menu Bar").Visible = True

    Hope this helps.

    it's probably been floated off some where, since you can't close the menu one. you'd need to use the docked command instead of visible in vba.

    he's need to dock it, since it can't be hidden.

    Public Sub toolbars()
    ActiveExplorer.CommandBars("Menu Bar").Position = 1
    End Sub

    IT WORKED!!! Thanks so much. I'll have to keep this info on file in case someone else runs into the same problem.

    Another thing to try, that MAY work in any app, it to use the "Alt" key, then "v' for View, "f" for Files, "t" for tools. If the Toolbar is list under View it would be "Alt, v,t" and then you can select the "Standard" and you should get the standard tool bar back.

    Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.
