    Thumbs up

    Hi everyone!

My daughter has a Dell with XP. Last night she learned that this keeps popping up:

    HOSTS c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

I've read something about this before, but can't recall if this is something important, or to just ignore. I've googled it and some say it's a virus, but her MalwareBytes and Avast comes up clean.

    I'd appreciate any feedback.

    Thank you!

Does this happen when the system is booted or during normal use?

Have you examined the Hosts file?

Some security software will alert you when a change is attempted to the Hosts file. What security software is in use?
