sometimes when using email , playing spider solitaire, or any other program the window on the desktop starts flickering madly. It is almost impossible to stop it as the close program does not work. Eventually it stops but it can take some time todo so. Any ideas as to what is causing this. Windows 7 on this computer is an upgrade from Vista.

Is this a recent occurrence? What have you changed recently?

    Is your video driver up-to-date?

Note: you should not have to install DirectX 9.
