    HI All,

I have build a tool that will populate the contents from another sheet that has the table. Thanks to the link that catherine shared, i was able to build something.

I have also used a formula that one of you had shared quite sometime back which I have used here to extract the info from the 'Descriptor" sheet. However, it seems to be picking up the wrong contents.

Can someone fix this formula for me?

Also is is possible to also get the formatting from the table in "Descriptor' sheet into the cells B14:E14 on the 'Master Sheet"

OR is there a VBA code do what this formula does and also copies the formatting.

Attched is the excel sheet for your reference.

    Regards

Can you provide a description, or an example, of what you expected ?

I could be wrong, but I believe that there is no way to copy or transfer formatting embedded within a line in the way you have used it. It would be better practice to split these large statements into smaller pieces, each with its own formatting, and concatenate them where and when you need to.

This approach will surely help you with possible future analysis where you may want to interrogate part of one of those long descriptions rather than all of it.

I think I am saying you need to get your data model sorted out before transferring stuff around or you will end up with an over-complex and unmaintainable Workbook.

Please take this in the constructive spirit in which it is written.

    Hi,

The formula that needs to be fixed is in the cells B14:E14 in the sheet 'Master Sheet'

    I realised that.

My question was "Can you provide a description, or an example, of what you expected ?"

I think you want to index starting at A2
    INDEX(Descriptor!$A$2:$G$25

or not subtract one from the row

    MATCH($C$5,Descriptor!$A$2:$A$25,0)+MATCH(B$13,Des criptor!$B$2:$B$5),

You seem to be grabbing the row above the row you want...
