I have had Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 for a little over a week. In past versions of Outlook, I set up notifications when I receive mail by dispaying a enveloped in the system tray and giving me an audio singal(ding). I set it up in Outlook 2010, but it is not working. Other than that, Outlook is working.

So you have checked all the relevant options on Options->Mail but it doesn't work? What part does not work? The envelope, the sound, both?

Both. I have found that when I configure a pop account, it works; however I find that one of my mailbox is IMAP and the options don't work. I tried configure it as a pop accoutny, but can't send out.

Email alerts are not support for IMAP accounts in Outlook 2010. See Outlook 2010 new mail notification for a workaround.

Thanks Joe, I found the article and printed it out. This will make me comfortable working with Outlook 2010.
