    A recent thread under "General Windows' (50 Best ways . . .) mentioned a website (ghacks.net.)

In browsing the site I read an article praising a piece of software called: MZ 7 Optimizer (freeware.)
All the sites offering the download point to mztweak.com, which unfortunately is no longer running.

Does anyone here have that software? If so, could you post a link? If no link now works,
would you PM-me if you would be willing to email me the installer for this tweaking freeware?

    Thank you.

    Mz 7 Optimizer 1.1.0

Use the Majorgeeks download link, not the Author's Site download link. The author's site is down.
I was able to successfully download the app.

    Thanks Clint.

That's about the only site I didn't try. I did download the MZ freeware. Now I'll take a system image
and then play around until the Patriots play later today.

You might also look at Ultimate Windows Tweaker. This is like TweakUi (for XP) on steroids.

Thanks Ted. I've already used that. I was looking for something new to play with. Like you I love
to play with and try out new things to tweak and "improve" W7.

    Dick,

I tried this program using a download from Major Geeks as suggested by Clint.
It immediately caused an error when trying to make it's initial registry backup.
I tried ignoring the error and making a manual backup using the program and it gave message to select at least one registry key but there was no where to do this.
Next I uninstalled it. Hope you have better luck.

    Hi RG:
Sorry it didn't work for you. I have a 32-bit W7 Home Premium system, and it did work
    for me.

As far as the program and it's offered tweaks, I found most of them I had already found
individually at various sites as I played around.

There were some optimization settings offered on the "Network Tweaks" menu that have
    helped speed-up my system.

I think this program would be useful for someone who doesn't want to spend time going around the
web to all the various sites offering W7 tweaks, since many of them are gathered together in MZ 7 Optimizer.

    Best,
    Dick

I used Window blinds years ago, I found it bogged my system down way too much.

Found something interesting under "additional tweaks"... what does the "enable self healing capability in NTFS file system" check box do?

There is a forum in The Windows Club where you might get an exact answer to this question. I do not myself know exactly what this does.

Bumbly, I think you would be a bit surprised at how WindowBlinds has improved over the years, particularly on today's PCs.
