Java windows are too small, part cut off

In Internet Explorer 8, any div containing a Java applet is too small, so that part of the applet to the right, and sometimes at the bottom, is cut off. The problem appeared a few days ago. This only happens on my home desktop computer, and only with Internet Explorer; Google Chrome on the same computer shows the Java applets correctly. Compatibility View makes no difference. I am running Windows 7 64 bit, but my laptop machine with the same OS is okay, and my XP machine at work is okay. I would be grateful for any help

I just stumbled on the answer. It is the menu item View → Zoom, which I didn’t even know existed. It changes the size of almost everything on the rendition of a Web page, but not the contents of a Java window. If the setting is >100%, Java items have whitespace to the right and below; if <100%, one has the problem I described. Seemingly, I or another user of this computer changed that setting unknowingly. Thank you to the viewers of my posting.
