Windows 7 keeps offering me the same updates

Even though I have installed them several times, I keep getting told that two important updates are available, KB977165 and KB981852. How come they don't get installed for keeps? What can I do to fix this?

Microsoft Support walked me through a number of steps which ultimately left my computer unbootable. I am not impressed. I restored a disk image from before the problem started happening, installed Windows 7 SP1, and now I am OK. Of course I had to restore my data as well, from the time of the disk image to the present. Not fun, but at least I am back running OK.

Good reason to create new Up To Date Images. Sorry you had the problem.
