    Queensland Floods

I just saw some before and after satellite photo's of the Queensland floods.

My heart goes out to all of you who have suffered any loss from that horror.

I can only imagine what every one is going through because of the loss of life and property.

For those of you on this forum and any one else living in that area, you and your's are in mine and many others prayers.

Severe Tropical cyclone Yasi is going to cross the coast of north Queensland in the next day, so the people of Queensland are in for another battering.

I don't recall Australia ever being beaten up so badly by the weather before.
Is there any historical presidence for the weather we are seeing?
Or is this kind of thing just cyclic, but worsening.

All the elements of what is happening happen regularly.
Qld usually gets several cyclones a year, and 5 years ago had one as bad as Yasi.
Brisbane had serious flooding in 1974.

So the Climate Change sceptics say that this is all just 'normal' variation.
To others things seem to be getting worse.

One reason that I heard promulgated was that the planet alignments in a once in 2600 years event, has weakened the polar magnetic fields, creating extremes of weather. FYI :-)
