Windows Firewall w/MS Security Essentials Protect

I've always heard that Windows Firewall only protects inbound and not outbound. Is there any outbound protection with MS Security Essentials installed or do I need to replace Windows Firewall with something like McAfee or Trend Micro Internet Security?

MSE is Anti-malware only not a firewall.

Outbound protection is part of a firewall. The XP firewall does not provide outbound port management.
