    How to index Thunderbird

How to index Thunderbird (v3.1.7) messages in
    Google Desktop (v5.9.1005.12335-en-pb)?
Already uninstalled both reinstalled both, all that stuff everyone says,
but no indexing. Always worked in v2 Thunderbird.
    Ideas? thanx

I've just tested this and I don't have any TB data after mid 2010 in desktop search. Not good!

    cheers, Paul

Are you using IMAP mail or POP mail in TB? Google desktop doesn't always index IMAP, as most times, the mail is actually on the Server and not on your local machine.

Google Desktop not indexing Thunderbird v3

    POP
I have actually uninstalled Thunderbird v3, reinstalled v2 (a couple of years old), and Desktop (v5.9.1005.12335-en-pb) does index the v2 product. Seems the file names are overly esoteric and lengthly in v3 verses the v2 method. Only one other person has stated they are experiencing the same problem - that seems odd. Also, in Fred Langa's Windows Secrets Column, Issue 275, "Another Windows 7 Search alternative ", Fred says Google Desktop (which he recommends) indexes everything - not on my machine! I suspect Google could care less about Thunderbird issues and would rather I use GMail.
    thanx

I have a mix of POP and IMAP. Neither are indexed.

    cheers, Paul
