    sata connection to ata

    hi
    i have a shiny new hitachi cinama star sata 3, i want to hook up to a very old board with ata conection, anyone know what i will need ?

    board is asus tek a7v333 rev 1 xx [crap printer made print out i cant read easily so digits at end may be missing]

    You will need a SATA card to plug into one of the motherboard slots.

    oh right!, as simple as that, i see they are called sata to ide adaptors.

    Not SATA to IDE, straight SATA in a PCI slot. Like this.
