    HP DeskJet 930C: all three lights blinking

    Recently installed new black and white cartridge 45. At first I was able to print, but a couple days later, all three lights were blinking whenever I tried to turn the printer on. In fact, I can't turn the printer off (the lights blink again)...I have to unplug it.

    I've checked power cable and USB cable, both are connected.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks. Tried this, but printer can't be turned off ... lights resume blinking (simultaneously, not alternately). Pulling the plug and re-connecting also doesn't solve the problem.

    Is the cartridge a new, genuine HP? Or is it a refilled, or 3rd party cartridge? I've seen lots of compatibility issues with the later.

    Like Doc says, if it's an after market cartridge you may need the chip..Or the existing chip re-set.

    It's a genuine HP 45 cartridge (unless it's a very good counterfeit imitation???).

    Full disclosure: had used the printer for years with a PC; bought a new PC which turned out to be a lemon; bought an iMac and installed shareware drivers; discovered that black cartridge was dried up or empty; bought and installed new black cartridge; was able to print for a few days, but then encountered the situation described in my original post.

    Any suggestions?

    Remove and reinstall the cartridges with the printer disconnected from the computer.

    Are you able to test it on a PC? Using 3rd party drivers custom written for a MAC may be a little bit suspect.

    Hey jefnl, I think I can solve your problem.
    I turned on my printer the other day and all the leds started blinking insanely fast.
    I has able to fix it by doing this :

    - Remove Power a Printer/USB cables;
    - Remove the rear panel door (I dunno if its called that way);
    - Insert power cable and turn the printer on;
    - The leds will blink normally and they will stop (power led and paper led on I think), when they stop you insert the rear door and the printer should work normally.

    It worked for me, give it a try
