Why is print & print preview greyed out Excel XP?

I've opened several workbooks and all have Page Setup, Print Preview and Print greyed out in the file menu. ANy idea how I can fix this?

    Thanks

What is the situation when attempting to print the blank worksheet immediately after launching Excel?
Do you have a problem when printing a Word document?
    Regards
    Don

Word is fine. I just open Excel - blank workbook or an existing one and click File - can't print. No sure how long it has been this way as I rarely print from Excel. But it is really annoying!

Which version of Excel is being used?
In Excel do the icons on the toolbar (not the File menu) work for Print or Print Preview?
If you hover the mouse over the Print icon, does it show the same printer name that is used for your Word documents?

Excel 2002 SP3. The Print icon is greyed out - but hovering gives the same printer as Word. PrintPreview is live and it appears I can print via that - although long winded. Ctrl-P works. I guess I just have to adjust. Would be good to find out why though.

Try a search of your hard drive for XLSTART folders/files. Are there any files in any of your XLSTART folders?

Yes, but they haven't changed for a while. However, I tried deleting them but it didn't help.

    Are there any .xlb files?

Have you tried logging on to your system as a different User and try creating/printing Excel files from a different User?

That's it - I removed the .xlb file and it came right. Thank you!
