    Excel 2007 start up

    It used to be that putting '/e' after the target (and outside the quote marks) in an Excel shortcut would open that program without the splash screen and no blank workbook and all the instructions I have found say that this still applies.

    However, I can't get it to work. Anyone got any ideas?

    Works fine for me on WinXP. Which OS are you using?

    David,

    I tried it as follows: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12\EXCEL.EXE" /e

    Worked for me.

    Windows 7 64-Bit, Office 12 32-Bit {Excel 2007}

    So are you getting both splash screen and startup file, or one or the other?

    Do you have any files in any of your startup directories? (the 2 XLSTART folders and any additional startup folder you may have specified in the Options)
